Floor Tape Questions

And don't forget, free product samples available upon request!

For optimal performance :

* Clean & dry. The cleaner the better - higher longevity and more satisfaction with our products

* Above 55°F for non-freezer grade tapes. Colder temperatures may affect adhesion properties.

* Flat surface. Best with sealed concrete. Can bridge over concrete sawcut lines, but large floor divits may cause issues.

Many options here - General floor cleaner/ floor scrubber fluid, Isopropyl alcohol, standard dish soap with water. Our favorite to use is isopropyl alcohol with fast drying properties.

Steer clear of paint thinners or muriatic acids as they can break down the adhesive

See the demo on our youtube page: Floor Cleanliness Test Demo

In summary - apply a small section of tape to floor, pull up from floor and compare to non applied adhesive. There should be little difference between the two.

Durable.

Customers have noted that "tape" is an understatement. The aisle stripes range from .021" (PIPRD tape) to .050" (Mighty Line) thick which is 6 and 14 sheets of printer paper, respecitively.

The thick plastic layer and strong adhesive is tough enough to handle heavy foot and equipment traffic with a 3 year limited warranty. It's made for demanding applications with better performance than paint lines and other floor tapes (name brand and cheap-o).

We may have options for exterior grade tapes, based on your application. If you are interested, reach out to us. We'd love to discuss your application and send product samples for you to test.

Both aisle stripes use the same adhesive and are very durable. Both are recommended for heavy duty industrial use.

Mighty line is made with thick PVC (.050" thick). The edges of Mighty Line tape are bevelled to avoid snagging and pulling up.

PIPRD tape has a lower profile than Mighty Line - .021" thickness vs .050" thickness with a different plastic material. PIPRD tape is made from the same material as our floor signs, which makes it customizable.

Different applications call for different color. Some of it is based on company preference. Here is our input:

Yellow - Aisles for forklifts and pedestrians, barriers, edges of steps, physical hazards

Red - Critical safety areas, safety equipment, emergency exit pathways/areas, reject and scrap areas

White - Good material staging and storage areas, equipment and work station outlines, parking lanes

Green - Finished product areas, complying material storage areas

Orange - Areas of suspect material or awaiting inspection

Blue - Work in process areas, container locations, raw materials

Black - Machining areas, waste bin locations

Yellow/Black Stripe - High caution areas, trip hazards, hazardous material storage, electrical panels, steps

Red/White Stripe - Health related and fire equipment, weight sensing floor mats, electrical panels, exit paths

Black/White Stripe - workflow area, keep clear, production cells, work stations

Other Stripe - draw general attention, traffic areas, robot areas, swinging products areas

Custom Repeating Message - PPE requirements, material/machine areas identification, traffic flow and requirements, special warnings

Floor Sign Questions

Manufactured here for over 15 years - we're floor sign experts

Like floor tape, for optimal performance :

* Clean & dry. The cleaner the better - higher longevity and more satisfaction with our products

* Above 55°F. Colder temperatures may affect adhesion properties.

* Flat surface. Best with sealed concrete. Can bridge over concrete sawcut lines, but large floor divits may cause issues.

1) Ensure application surface is clean, dry and above 55°F

2) Use the easy peel tab to remove a small of the backing - exposing the adhesive

3) Position the sign at the desired location

4) Once located, apply pressure the the section of exposed adhesive

5) Remove the remainder of the backing while applying pressure in a sweeping motion across the sign to ensure no air pockets form

6) Firmly apply pressure to the edges of the sign to ensure adhesion.

7) Done! Clean as needed with your industrial scrubber or by hand

We may have options for exterior signs, depending on your application. Give us a call to discuss. We'll work on a solution and get samples to you for trial.

Yes. Our signs have a "frosted" surface texture which greatly reduces the risk of slipping. The static coefficient of friction is well over the OSHA recommended .5.

We do recommend keeping the signs clean and dry for best slip resistance - just as you would for your concrete floor.

Sure thing! We can do any shape, color or size within 4ftx10ft.

They're made to handle routine forklift traffic and tough environments.

We've tested our signs extensively with normal shop floor forklift traffic as well as testing specifically to push the signs to the limit - torqueing wheels, dragging skids and burnouts.

Forklift traffic is covered by our limited 3 year warranty, with the exception of dragging skids.
